On October 19, 2021, Stanford University released the list of World's Top 2% Scientists 2020.

Base on the Scopus citation data, the list created a publicly available database that provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator. Separate data are shown for “Career-long Impact” and “Single Year Impact”. The top 2% covers around 160,000 scientists selected from nearly 7 million scientists worldwide, who are classified into 22 scientific fields and 176 sub-fields.

The Single Year Impact focuses on the academic impact in 2020. 16,604 scholars from more than 1,300 universities, enterprises and research institutions in China are nominated in this list. The Career-long Impact considers the differences in various sub-fields, evaluates the citation impact of a scientist's publications and works with respect to each specific field, and counts the comprehensive impact performance of scientists during their career. A total of 6943 scholars from more than 760 universities, enterprises and research institutions in China are nominated in this list.

Three professors from our college are nominated in the World's Top 2% Scientists - Ranking List of Single Year Impact and World's Top 2% Scientists - Ranking List of Career-long Impact.
